- 2 cups Marshmallows store bought or homemade
Set dehydrator or oven to 150F. If you’re using the oven, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place marshmallows in a single layer on a dehydrator tray or prepared baking sheet in your preheated oven. Space your marshmallows slightly apart from each other as they will slightly increase in size during the dehydrating process.
2 cups Marshmallows
Allow marshmallows to dehydrate for 3-4 hours, or until crisp, and the center of the marshmallows are no longer gooey.
You’re welcome to eat them by the handful, add them to your favorite breakfast bowls, or add them to a homemade hot chocolate mix. You can also store the dried marshmallows in an air-tight container or mason jars until you are ready to enjoy them!
Expert Tips & Serving Suggestions
- Use a silica packet. As an avid baker, I have a weird habit of stashing any silica packets I find from buying new shoes or purses. If you have one nearby, toss it into your storage jar for these dried mini marshmallows — it’ll keep them nice and crisp for weeks at a time. If you have a vacuum sealer, this is a great alternative to keep your dehydrated dry marshmallows as delicious treats in a ziplock bag.
- Make your own cereal. It might sound crazy, but I had a blast making these mini pancakes, and mini cookies would make for a DIY cookie crisp. Add some of these crispy marshmallow bits and you have yourself a bowl of goodness that your younger self never even fathomed was possible.
- Make DIY Hot Cocoa Mix Jars for inexpensive holiday gifts. Add some homemade dehydrated marshmallows to make sure your friends get the full, delicious effect in their steaming mug of hot chocolate.
