Hey There Friends!
Welcome - I'm so looking forward to sharing some of my favorite recipes, tips and tricks with you. A little about me, I grew up in Portland, Oregon where I felt constantly inspired by its local food culture, sustainability practices, not to mention their fantastic doughnut selection. Throughout my life, I've dedicated most of my time to baking, teaching, dreaming, and traveling. After completing Pastry School in Seattle, I started my own business and moved to Los Angeles where I'm currently working as a Pastry Chef and Photographer. Here we will dive into the various processes of creating delectable treats together, not to mention a cocktail or two! Pull up a chair, grab your favorite beverage and relax while you jump into my very favorite world that includes plenty of butter, flour and sugar!
Back in 2013 I started my first photography website after moving to France. This was a space where I could share my experiences with others from afar. While I wandered through a new and foreign world, photography and the exploration of food along with culture provided inspiration and joy on a daily basis. Years later, through writing and photography, this space became a creative outlet that led me to discover my love for food photography, pastry and teaching amongst a strong community.
A little more about me...
After growing up in Portland, Oregon I moved to Seattle to pursue a Bachelor's degree in both Communications & French. Once I had graduated university, I moved to France and taught English to Elementary school children with a program called TAPIF. To this day it's one of my most cherished and life-shaping adventures. Throughout this time in France, I traveled throughout Europe whenever possible. It was throughout these travels where I fell in love with the taste, design, and profession of Pastry. Soon after, I realized how quickly a community is built when food and dessert are the cornerstone. After returning to the states I worked for years in the Travel Industry until I worked up the courage to pursue Pastry School in Seattle and never looked back.
Currently, my husband Calvin and I live in Los Angeles where I work as a Pastry Chef, Pastry Teacher, and own a Creative Studio focused on both still and moving imagery. Outside of work, I adore exploring this relatively new home of California! Every weekend Calvin and I explore the city for new hidden gems, take sunny rides on our motorcycles and indulge ourselves with all the recipe testing I do on a regular basis.
