Welcome - I'm so looking forward to sharing some of my favorite recipes, tips and tricks with you within this corner of the internet!
Back in 2013 I started my first blog after moving to France to teach English. This was a space where I could share my experiences with others from afar. While I wandered through a new and foreign world, my passion for photography, learning about new cultures and the food culture therein provided inspiration and joy on a daily basis.
Here, within this blog, we will dive into the various processes, tips and tricks of creating delectable treats, savory dishes and beverages together in your own kitchen that are full of flavor.
A little more about me...
After growing up in Portland, Oregon I moved to Seattle to pursue a Bachelor's degree in both Communications & French. Once I had graduated University, I moved to France and taught English to Elementary school children with a program called TAPIF.
To this day it's one of my most cherished and life-shaping adventures. It was throughout these travels where I fell in love with the taste, art, and profession of Pastry.
After returning to Seattle, I worked for years in the travel industry until I decided to pursue my true passion and attended Pastry School in Seattle! I then worked as a pastry chef within the food industry while slowly building a business that I could call my own.
Currently, my husband Calvin and I live in Los Angeles where I work as a recipe developer, food photographer and content creator under the umbrella of my Creative Studio that focuses on both still and moving imagery.
Outside of my work and blogging days, I adore exploring this relatively new and beautiful home of Southern California! Every weekend Calvin and I explore the city for new hidden gems, take sunny rides on our motorcycles and indulge ourselves with all the recipe testing I do on a regular basis.

More About Emily & The Blog
While living in Seattle, I went to the Seattle Culinary Academy! The program was incredibly affordable at the time, and had a flexible schedule allowing me to continue to work in the travel industry at the same time!
I used to sell and share my baked goods at events, yet since moving to Southern California I am no longer selling food with a cottage food license. If this changes in the future, I'll make sure to let everyone know!
I've actually created a Food Photography Gear Guide for anyone that's curious - hopefully you'll find this list of items and resources a helpful starting point for you as you invest in your photography passion or your business! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out so I can help.
