Notes

Expert Tips
  • Use ripe, fragrant berries. If they’re not in season, check the freezer aisle!
  • If you’re using frozen berries instead of fresh, keep a few in the freezer until you’re ready to serve your masterpiece. Frozen strawberries in juice are way cuter than regular ice cubes.
  • Serve immediately for the best, most berry-forward flavor. While it’ll keep for a few days in the fridge, the flavor tends to change a bit over time.
  • If you have any leftovers, they make for fabulous popsicles
  • Strawberries consistently make the EWG’s Dirty Dozen list, so, if possible, opt for organic berries.
  • Waste not, want not. Zest your lemon before juicing, then rub it into sugar (perhaps this strawberry sugar?!?) or salt to preserve it. Then, toss your strawberry tops and lemons into a pitcher with water for a refreshingly summery twist on spa water.
