  • 2 Oranges sliced
  • 3-4 Star anise pods
  • 2 Apples sliced
  • 3 Cinnamon sticks
  • 5-6 Cardamom pods lightly crushed
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 8-10 Whole cloves
  • ¼ cup Apple cider
  • 4 cups Water

Instructions

  • In a large pot, dutch oven or crock pot, combine all the ingredients together.
    2 Oranges, 3-4 Star anise pods, 2 Apples, 3 Cinnamon sticks, 5-6 Cardamom pods, 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract, 8-10 Whole cloves, ¼ cup Apple cider, 4 cups Water
  • Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  • Once boiling, reduce the heat to its lowest setting, allowing the mixture to come to a simmer.
  • Let the simmer pot infuse for at least 30 minutes - at this point you'll notice that the aromatic blend of spices and fruits will start to release their fragrances! Add additional water as needed to prevent the iquid from boiling off completely.
