Can I use butter instead of oil to make seeded apricot and coconut granola?
You can certainly use another fat to substitute the avocado oil I've chosen for this recipe. Whether you use butter to make your granola, coconut oil, olive oil - it's entirely up to you! That's the beauty of granola, there are so many ways to adjust the recipe to truly make it your own.
I tend to use fats with a higher smoke point to ensure that the granola does not burn, but as long as you are consistently stirring the granola in the oven and keeping an eye and nose on its status, it will turn out wonderfully!
How long doese homeade granola last
Eventually, your precious granola will go bad. BUT the good news is that it is properly stored it will likely be long gone before the expiration date.
Your Seeded Apricot & Coconut Granola will last for about a month as long as it is stored in an airtight container at room temperature. You'll want to make sure that the granola has completely cooled before storing!
