How to Make a Lavender Matcha Latte
Step 1: Make the Matcha Base – Sift the matcha into a cup, add hot water, and whisk until smooth and frothy.
Step 2: Prepare the Lavender Cold Foam – In a tall glass or pitcher, combine heavy cream, milk, lavender syrup, and matcha. If using, add the purple food coloring.

Step 3: Froth It Up – Use a handheld frother, moving it around the bottom, top, and sides, until thick and foamy (about 1 minute).
Step 4: Assemble the Latte – Fill a glass with ice and pour in your oat or almond milk. Add the matcha shot, then top with the lavender cold foam.
Step 5: Sip & Enjoy – Stir gently if you want the flavors to mix, or sip as is for layers of flavor!

Matcha-Making Tips for the Perfect Latte
- Use High-Quality Matcha: For the best taste and color, choose ceremonial-grade matcha—it’s smoother and naturally sweet, without bitterness. I love using Meiko from Matchaeologist or Sayaka from Ippudo Tea!
- Sift Before Whisking: Sifting your matcha prevents clumps, making your latte extra smooth.
- Whisk It Right: Use a bamboo whisk or an electric frother and whisk in a zigzag motion for a light, foamy texture.

How to Customize Your Matcha Lavender Latte
Want to make it your own Starbucks copy-cat recipe at home? Here are some fun ways to customize this drink:
- Make It Sweeter – Add a splash of vanilla syrup or honey lavender syrup for extra sweetness.
- Go Dairy-Free – Swap the heavy cream for coconut cream or a barista-style oat milk in the cold foam.
- Try a Hot Version – Heat the oat milk and matcha together for a cozy, warm lavender latte.
- Extra Floral Flavor – Add a few dried lavender buds on top for a gorgeous finishing touch.
- Purple Ombre Effect – Stir in the food coloring gently for a beautiful layered look!
